Leveling up in Warframe is a tough process. It involves a long grind. But it’s also part of the fun.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the process of leveling up your Mastery Rank in Warframe.
This process involves a lot of work but there are ways you can speed things up to level up mastery rank fast.
Here’s how it works.
What Is Mastery Rank In Warframe
Mastery Rank is like the level system in Warframe. It’s the overall ranking system that defines your progression in the game.
Mastery Rank is different from the leveling system for weapons and Warframe.
With each Mastery Rank you gain, you unlock access to new weapons, Warframes, and features.
For example, in order to use the Hek shotgun, you need to level up to Mastery Rank 4.
As you level up Mastery Rank, you get to use the more powerful gear. It caps at Mastery Rank 30.
How To Increase Mastery Rank In Warframe?
To increase or level up Mastery Rank you need to gain Mastery. Mastery is earned by leveling up Weapons and Warframes.
Every time you level a weapon to level 30, you earn 3,000 Mastery points. When you level a Warframe to level 30, you earn 6,000 Mastery points.
So, long story short, you need to build new weapons, Warframes, and then level them up to earn Mastery points to increase your Mastery Rank.
Step 1: Build Weapons & Warframes
When you visit your Warframe profile, it will show you how many Mastery points you need to get to the next Rank. Then you can calculate how many weapons or Warframes you need to get to the next Rank.
Then get to work by building some weapons and frames. It doesn’t matter if you hate those weapons. Just build, level them up to 30, destroy the weapon, and move on to the next.
Remember to visit your Clan dojo and check different Labs to grab blueprints for more gear.
You can also buy blueprints for Prime variants of weapons and warframes to build. This will cost you platinum and it’s pay-to-win. But if you’re in a rush, this is the fastest way to level up.
Warframe Market is the best place you can go to buy prime blueprints.
Even if you buy the blueprints, you will still have to grind for the resources to build them. So it will require some work.
Step 2: Grind Helene, Saturn
The best mission for leveling up gear, at least for me, is Helene on Saturn.
You can rank a weapon or frame by doing 4-5 rounds of 10 waves in this mission.
This works better when you jump in with a team. Use the Recruitment chat to find a team that’s farming Helene.
Step 3: Wait For Double Affinity Event
Double Affinity events and weekends are perfect for leveling up gear. I usually keep a few weapons and frames stored in my Forge for such occasions.
During these events, you can level up gear without having to do too many rounds.
Keep an eye on Warframe Twitter page to get notified when a Double Affinity event is available. Use it to rank up all your gear.
Step 4 (Optional): Use An Affinity Booster
Another way to speed up your gear leveling is to buy an Affinity Booster from the Market. A 3-day booster costs about 40 platinum.
If you wait for a Double Affinity event and then grab a booster, you can make the most of your efforts. This way you can earn 4X affinity from missions.
You could easily level up a weapon by just running 15 waves in Helene for 2 rounds.
BONUS: How To Earn Platinum For Free
You will need some platinum when leveling up MR. Especially to buy warframe and weapon slots as well as for affinity boosters.
If you don’t want to spend any real money, try following my guide to learn how to earn platinum for free. Here’s a quick preview.
In Conclusion
Gaining Mastery Rank is a tough process. I’ve been playing Warframe for over 300 hours and I’m still at MR 13.
Needless to say, it takes time. Even if you use real money to buy stuff, it will still take days to gain Mastery Rank. So don’t try to rush it. Enjoy the process. That’s the whole point of playing Warframe.
