Thinking about getting back into Fallout 4?
Then be sure to grab these Fallout 4 mods to experience Fallout 4 in a completely new way.
It’s been over 5 years since Fallout 4 came out and I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people still playing this game.
According to Steam Charts, more than 15,000 people play Fallout 4 every day on PC alone. And I’m certain that mods are a huge incentive for most of those players.
I also started playing Fallout 4 again on PC and decided to use a few mods to bring the game on par with modern games.
My main goal was to enhance graphics and gameplay while using fewer mods.
With the help of these mods, I was able to give new life to Fallout 4 and honestly, I’m excited to play it again.
Here’s a list of mods I’ve been using to supercharge Fallout 4.
1. Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
This is a must-have mod that you should install right away. This mod fixes some of the most common bugs and issues in the game.
There are hundreds of fixes in this patch. It will simply make your Fallout journey a smoother experience.
2. Vivid Fallout
This mod includes a bundle of enhanced textures for Fallout 4. After installing this mod, Fallout 4 looked just as good as a next-gen game.
The mod completely overhauls landscape textures, trees, roads, concrete structures, and more.
3. Grasslands
I know many people love the apocalyptic deserted environments of the Fallout franchise but personally, I’ve found it to be a bit depressing. I used this mod to change that.
It simply adds green grass to the environment to make Fallout 4 look a bit more lush and beautiful.
4. Armor and Clothing Overhaul
This mod allows you to wear your armor underneath your outfit.
Normally, when you wear a cool outfit and also equip armor, the armor pieces appear on top of the outfit. With this mod, that won’t happen.
It also adds a few additional options for upgrading armor as well.
I’ve added an extra bundle of skins to my Fallout 4 so this mod was really useful to me.
5. Improved Map with Visible Roads
With this mod, you’ll be able to save a lot of time that you otherwise spend trying to find the right path to your next destination.
The mod adds more details to your Pipboy map and for beginners, it’s a must-have mod.
6. Lowered Weapons
Fallout 4 does this weird this where it shows the weapon right on the center of the screen even while you’re running or walking. This can be really annoying.
Lowered Weapons mod fixes this problem by automatically lowering your weapon while you’re moving.
7. See Through Scopes
Don’t get me started on the default scopes in Fallout 4. They are just plain terrible.
I’ve delighted when I found this mod because it improves combat gameplay in an enormous way.
Also, if you’re planning on adding some cool custom weapon mods, the see-through scopes mod is a must-have.
Over To You
Try not to use too many mods. It actually affects loading times and can be really painful to enjoy the game when it takes a few minutes to enter and exit buildings.
I’m still experimenting with new mods and trying to find ways to improve the game. I’ll update this post whenever I get a chance.
