In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can upgrade many things including commercial buildings and tools.
Not only that, but you can also upgrade your own house too.
Before you upgrade it, you need to complete some simple quests. But don’t worry. I will help you.

Step 1: Complete the “Making Cents of the Things” Quest
As the first thing, you need to complete the “Making cents of the things” quest.
In here, you need to get Goofy back to his business by building him the stall in Peaceful Meadow.
After opening the stall in the Peaceful Meadow, you need to earn 1000 coins by selling items. These coins are for upgrading Scrooge McDuck’s shop.
Then, you need to click on the sign outside McDuck’s store to upgrade it. After upgrading that, you need to buy something from McDuck’s store.
Step 2: Complete the “Grand Reopening” Quest
As the second step, you need to complete the “Grand Reopening” quest given to you by Scrooge McDuck.
In this quest, you need to wear a promotional T-shirt from McDuck.
After that, you need to craft the signs of Scrroge’s store and place them around the valley. Here, I did something silly, but it didn’t affect the progress of the game. I placed all the signs in the places that I wanted. It didn’t show the correct direction for the store. But anyway, you shouldn’t do it.
As the next task, you need to craft a Dandelion and Rising penstemon pot and place it near McDuck’s store.
Step 3: Complete the “Dreamlight Valley Economy 101” Quest
This is a very easy task. In order to boost the economy of the valley, you need to sell 7 gems in the Goofy’s stall in Peaceful Meadow.
You can easily find gems if you mine in rock spots. These rock spots are black and like a small mountain. Get your pickaxe and hit them. You can get various minerals including gems.

Collect 7 gems as I said and sell them to Goofy.
How To Upgrade House
After completing all those quests, Scrooge will install an elevator in your house.
This elevator can see on the left-hand side of your house when you enter inside.
When you go into the elevator, you can select the “Expand home” option by clicking E. Then you can select the following options.
- 1st main room expansion 2000 coins
- 2nd room – 2000 coins
- Additional room – 3000 coins (10*10) 2000 coins (8*8) 1000 coins (6*6)
If you have a two-story home, you can add floors also.
Upgrade the Exterior of the House
Now you know how to expand the rooms of the house. But you can upgrade the exterior appearance of your house too.
There is a McDuck sign in front of your house and you need to click on it. After that McDuck will arrive and you can upgrade your house.
Plus, when you upgrade the exterior of your house, it will expand the capacity of all the chests inside your home.
- 1st external Upgrade – 2000 coins
- 2nd external upgrade – 20000 coins
- 3rd external upgrade – 75000 coins
