Fishing is one of the most peaceful activities in life that will always put you in a calming mood.
And the same can be said about playing video games too. Especially ones where you also get to go fishing in a virtual world, without having to worry about mosquitoes and alligators.
In this list, I’m sharing some of the best mobile fishing games you can carry around in your pocket and go fishing everywhere you go. So the next time you’re in a queue waiting impatiently or taking a long bus ride, you can easily be calm without having to run to the lake.
Most of these fishing games are designed to offer a more relaxing experience rather than realistic gameplay. There are fishing games for both Android and iPhone users as well. Have a look.
1. Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver is one of the most fun and chill games I’ve played on PC and the full port of that game is finally coming to mobile platforms on September 17.
In this game, you play dual roles. During the daytime, you go diving in the deep sea to explore and do some fishing. During the night, you manage a sushi restaurant where you have to take care of the customers.
Dave the Diver is a combination of an RPG and management sim, and it does both quite well. When playing this game, you won’t feel bored, as it also has some action-packed combat and rogue-like elements as well.
2. Subnautica

I played the heck out of Subnautica on PC and I had no idea it was available on mobile platforms for such a long time. In fact, even Subnautica 2 is available on mobile.
Subnautica is a must-play game for fans of fishing and exploration games. Back when the first game was released, it had one of the most immersive open worlds I’ve seen where you get to dive underwater and swim alongside all kinds of fish and creatures.
In addition to diving, exploring, and capturing fish, you also get to uncover a mystery in Subnautica’s story mode. This is an RPG that combines several fun gameplay mechanics to offer an unforgettable experience.
3. Creatures of the Deep

Creatures of the Deep is another cozy fishing game that’s quite similar to the vibes of Dave the Diver.
In this game, you get to explore various locations to fish and capture all kinds of creatures, more than 600 to be exact. You can also build and manage your own base island where you get to store your valuables and do trading.
Creatures of the Deep features cool multiplayer elements, like joining a clan to play together and complete challenges. There are also tournaments you can participate in and compete alongside other players.
4. Fishing Planet

Fishing Planet offers more of a realistic fishing simulator experience where you get to play the game in first-person view.
In this game, you get a very close-to-lifelike fishing experience where you must steer your boat in the waters, find the best fishing spots, and then do some fishing like a real pro.
You do need some basic fishing knowledge to get a head start in this game, but learning the ropes isn’t that difficult. It also has multiplayer elements as well.
Fishing Planet is a free-to-play game that’s available across PC and mobile platforms. You can, however, spend money to buy DLCs and in-game content.
5. Fishing Masters

Fishing Masters is another fishing simulator game with realistic visuals and gameplay mechanics.
You can actually get a more hands-on experience with this game as it allows you to really use your device and movements to reel in the fish. It certainly adds to the engaging and exciting fishing experience.
There are more than 100 types of fish, creatures, and treasures to find in this game, along with multiplayer leaderboards, duels, and other cool gameplay systems.
For a free-to-play game, Fishing Masters delivers high value without intrusive ads or forced microtransactions.
6. Fishing and Life

This mobile fishing game is ideal for gamers who want to experience a cozy and casual vibe where you just chill and relax with short sessions.
You don’t have to worry about having fishing knowledge or experience playing simulators to play this game. It has simple and basic controls with straightforward gameplay mechanics. You can just relax and enjoy the vibes.
Although Fishing and Life is not as simple as it looks. It has various types of fish to catch, equipment upgrades to unlock, and different areas to explore too.
7. Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is popular for its fun and chill farming gameplay and its RPG mechanics. But this game also has one of the best fishing gameplay systems I’ve seen.
In addition to all the farming, mining, raising animals, and dating NPCs, Stardew Valley also has a fishing system where you can catch various types of fish and relax for a while. It’s actually one of the best ways to make money in the game too.
The fishing system is simple but has a fun reeling-in mechanic where you have to balance your movement. The game also has a shop dedicated to fishing and ways to upgrade your fishing equipment as well.
8. DREDGE

DREDGE is a fascinating game that combines several different genres to offer a unique experience. It features exploration, fishing, and even survival elements.
In this game, you control a fishing boat where you must navigate a vast sea to catch fish, find materials, and treasures. You also have to do some questing along the way as well as upgrade your ship as you level up.
DREDGE is a great single-player game that is also available on PC and consoles. On mobile, it’s a bit expensive at $25. Check some gameplay before buying it to see if it’s up your alley.
9. Maneater

Maneater is a different kind of fishing game where your goal is to fish for humans rather than fish. Because in Maneater, you play as a shark!
Maneater is a super fun RPG that lets you become a hungry shark and go hunting not only fish but also humans. Don’t worry, these are bad humans.
That’s not all; the game also includes missions and upgrades that you can grind for to become an absolutely terrifying monster.
Maneater was fantastic to play on PC, and the mobile version is just as addictive and fun to play.
10. Hooked Inc

If you’re looking for a game that doesn’t require you to do all the work but still enjoy fishing, this one is a good place to start.
Hooked Inc is an idle clicker game where you don’t have to do any of the heavy lifting involved with fishing. All you have to do is just tap away and catch all the fish. The game also has various progression mechanics, upgrades, and even huge creatures to fight.
Hooked Inc is ideal for quick and short gaming sessions. You don’t have to follow missions or be invested in a story; just open the game app and tap away.
11. Seafood Inc

Seafood Inc is another idle mobile game that features casual fishing-themed mechanics. Rather than doing all the fishing, this game lets you manage a fish-related product manufacturing empire.
It’s an idle tycoon game where you manage a company that processes seafood. Your boats do all the work of catching fish; all you have to do is manage the manufacturing part of the business.
Even though Seafood Inc doesn’t have fishing gameplay, it’s a good game to play when you need a break or change from all the fishing.
12. Casting Away

Casting Away is a unique fishing game that combines an interesting story with survival elements.
This game puts you in the role of a movie star whose plane crashes on an isolated island. Now you must learn to survive, and fishing is the only way.
Casting Away features simple yet beautiful graphics and gameplay mechanics that is easy to manage on a phone. You can catch fish, cook, and even find treasure in your journey.
