best job simulator games

Is it weird to play job simulator games?

I’ve seen gamers coming home from a hard day of work as a truck driver, only to log on to their computer to play Euro Truck Simulator.

Most people see this and think we’re crazy. Why would someone want to play games that simulate real-life jobs, where we feel miserable most of the time?

I think being in control of the job is what makes playing job simulator games fun. In real-life jobs, we don’t really have control. We just follow orders from a superior.

That and being able to mindlessly get immersed in the game is why job simulators are so addictive to play.

Today, I’m bringing you a list of the best job simulator games you can get addicted to. These games are immersive and will help you escape for a while to de-stress and turn your mind off a little.

1. Supermarket Simulator

Supermarket Simulator

If you haven’t seen Markiplier’s Supermarket Simulator gameplay series, I highly encourage you to check it out. That’s how I got into this game.

Supermarket Simulator allows you to setup and run your own supermarket. This involves designing the shop, managing inventory, and processing orders at checkout.

It sounds simple, but this game is highly addictive. Time flies while you’re at checkout, processing orders. And it’s perfect for just mindlessly listening to a podcast or music in the background.

2. Schedule I

schedule 1

If you’ve ever thought about what life is like as a drug dealer, this is the game for you to live it.

Drug dealing is not as easy as it seems. There’s a lot of work involved in the process of making drugs, finding customers, and delivering.

First, you have to setup a farm at your tiny apartment, then find a distributor to buy seeds, then you need to plant those seeds, water them until they grow. Then you have to cut the product out, package it before delivering to customers.

And let me tell you, dealing with customers and dealers is no walk in the park either.

I learned all this by playing Schedule I. It’s a fun, indie game made by a couple of developers. Even though I despise drug use, I actually enjoyed playing the game, mainly because I enjoyed the process.

3. PowerWash Simulator

PowerWash Simulator

If you’ve ever washed a car or motorcycle before, you know how satisfying it feels to spray soap and then wash it down with a high-pressure water gun.

With this game, you can do that over and over again, without having to go outside and without getting tired.

PowerWash Simulator became so popular for its satisfying gameplay mechanics. It’s not entirely a job simulator, and it’s more about giving you a satisfying gameplay experience.

Of course, the game does include a career mode where you can level up and upgrade your gear as you work the job. And it has tons of DLCs that add new styles of game modes to expand your horizons.

4. Contraband Police

Contraband Police

Contraband Police is the game that made CaseOh into the top-tier lists of streamers.

On paper, this game sounds boring. I mean, who wants to play a game where your job is to check passports at the border crossing? But you have to see it in action to really get the idea of this game.

In this game, you basically play as a border patrol officer whose job is to catch suspicious individuals and find what they’re hiding in their vehicles.

It’s a fun, detective-style game with endless gameplay value.

5. Food Delivery Simulator

Food Delivery Simulator

Lately, I’ve been addicted to watching food delivery videos on YouTube. It’s just fun to watch delivery drivers rush through traffic to make deliveries on time while dealing with customers and making money.

This is what brought me to this game. It’s an early access game and has lots of bugs and issues that need to be polished out. But the core gameplay loop of the game is fun and playable.

In Food Delivery Simulator, you simply play the role of an Uber Eats rider, driving around in busy streets and making deliveries.

6. Euro Truck Simulator 2

euro truck simulator 2

ETS2 is one of my all-time favorite games that I’ve been playing for hundreds of hours.

In this game, you basically become a truck driver, and your job is to do deliveries all across Europe. There is also American Truck Simulator, if you prefer to enjoy the scenery in the US.

The main reason for ranking ETS2 this far down is because of the financial commitment you have to make to experience this game to its fullest extent.

For starters, this game can cost a lot, especially when buying DLCs. And then you’ll need to invest in a driving wheel, like Logitech G29, to get fully immersed in this game.

I’ve played this game on keyboard and mouse for a while and still enjoyed it. But it doesn’t even come close to the experience you get while playing with a wheel. It was well worth it, though.

7. Farming Simulator

Farming Simulator

If you enjoy calming gameplay where you farm crops and harvest for profit while driving tractors, this game is for you.

Even though I haven’t played this game myself, I know plenty of people enjoy this game just for its satisfying game mechanics.

Farming Simulator is more than just about farming and harvesting. It’s also about managing your own farm, meeting market demands, and making a good profit.

8. House Flipper

house flipper 2 graphics

In House Flipper, you become a realtor who’s also in charge of cleaning and renovating the places before you sell them for profit.

You buy old and abandoned houses, clean and upgrade the place, and then sell them for big money.

House Flipper is well-known as a very calming game with addictive gameplay. There’s something really fun and enjoyable about painting the walls and knocking down walls.

I played both House Flipper 1 and House Flipper 2. They are both great games. You can grab the first game at steep discounts quite often. But House Flipper 2 has better and more immersive graphics.

9. Fast Food Simulator

Fast Food Simulator

Run your own fast food joint, cook burgers, take orders from customers, and deliver on time.

This is a fun little game you can play, especially if you enjoy cooking simulators. You can also play co-op with friends, which is more fun. But of course, you can play it solo as well.

Fast Food Simulator is also still in early access, and it does use some AI-generated content, which could affect the immersiveness for some folks.

10. Thief Simulator

Thief Simulator

Drive around the neighborhood, scout for the best houses, sneak in at night, pick locks, and steal valuables. It sounds easy, but this game will make you see how difficult it is to steal stuff. In a way, that’s a good thing, right?

Jokes aside, Thief Simulator is a fun game you can play for short sessions. It basically puts you in the shoes of a thief, and you will have to manage every aspect of the job. There’s a lot more to stealing than you think.

11. Car Mechanic Simulator

Car Mechanic Simulator

If you’re a gearhead and enjoy all things related to cars and motor repair, you’ll have so much fun with this game. And, you will also learn a thing or two about vehicle repair as well.

In this game, you run your own garage where your job is to repair cars, upgrade, and build your own business as a car mechanic.

Car Mechanic Simulator has been around for a while and there’s a lot of content for you to enjoy in this game, including more than 70 cars to repair and lots of DLCs.

12. Police Simulator: Patrol Officers

Police Simulator Patrol Officers

We all like to hate the police, but playing this game will show you how tough it is to uphold the law and be a police officer.

A cool thing about this game is that it has a clever AI that creates organic traffic accidents and events for you to take part in. You will have all kinds of duties as a police officer.

The game is much more fun to play co-op with friends.

That’s All Folks!

This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are tons of great job simulator games out there. Try some of the games on the list. Other games are just a search away.

Also, if you’re a fan of farming sims, we have a list full of the best farming simulator games too. Check it out.
