By You can’t survive jungle warfare in Gray Zone Warfare without 4X ACOG sights.
Whenever you go on a mission, you will constantly get shot at from all directions by enemies far, far away.
You can’t spot these enemies or even attempt to shoot them with some poor red dot sights attached to your weapon. You must have a 4X sight for that.
I learned this lesson very early on in GZW. I got killed constantly by NPCs after I lost my starting gear. I had to survive for a long time with just iron sights.
So, make sure that you unlock and equip yourself with a good-enough weapon before going out into the wild.
In this guide, I will walk you through the process of how to unlock and how to attach ACOG sights to the M4A1 in the popular military simulator.
Step 1: How To Unlock ACOG Sights
You can buy the M4A1 and ACOG sights from Gunny, the weapons vendor.
However, you don’t get the luxury of 4X sights when you start Gray Zone Warfare on a fresh account. First, you need to unlock it.
To be able to buy the M4A1 from Gunny, you need to level up this vendor to Level 2. And then you need to get
To do this, you’ll have to complete a few missions for Gunny in the starting area to earn enough XP to level up.
At certain points, you will have to complete missions from other vendors, like Handshake, to progress through the game to unlock more missions from other vendors like Gunny. So remember to accept and do multiple missions on a single run so that you can progress faster in the game.
Step 2: Buy M4A1 & ACOG Sights
Once you unlock Level 2 Gunny, you will be able to buy both the M4A1 and ACOG sights.
M4A1 is one of the best weapons in GZW that will carry you through the early and mid-game quite comfortably. So consider this an early investment.
In order to attach the ACOG sights onto the M4A1, you also need to buy the attachment for the sights. This attachment is simply called ACOG Mount and it can be found in the attachments section in Gunny’s shop. It will cost you around $2.5k to buy both items.
Buy all three items- ACOG Mount, ACOG sights, and M4A1- and head over to your stash.
Step 3: How To Attach ACOG Sights
Now comes the easy part. To attach the ACOG sights to your weapon, all you have to do is drag and drop them into your weapon.
First, drag and drop the ACOG Mount to your weapon. The interface will highlight where you need to install the attachment.
Then drag and drop the ACOG sights to your weapon.
Now you can enjoy shooting bad guys from a far away.

That’s about it. The process is about the same for attaching sights to other weapons as well. You just need to find the right mount and sights compatible with your weapon and then drag and drop to install them. Just always remember to install the mount first.
Once you level up and progress further, you will unlock better and more powerful weapons. But personally, I’ve always felt M4A1 to be more than enough to survive most activities in GZW. It’s much cheaper and easier to acquire than other guns.
