games like solo leveling

Watching Solo Leveling made me really want to experience that same feeling in a video game.

In this list, I came up with a bunch of games similar to Solo Leveling that offer the same kind of feeling of being overpowered.

These games are not 100% like Solo Leveling. Most games aren’t even anime games. However, they do capture that same vibe of defeating monsters, running dungeons, and getting powerful while leveling your character.

Some of these games are difficult, and some are highly addictive. See if you can find a game that matches your vibe.

1. Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE

Solo Leveling ARISE OVERDRIVE

Why look for games like Solo Leveling when you can play the actual game!

Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is the official Solo Leveling game that is based on the original story. And it includes a few brand new chapters as well.

The game follows the story of Sung Jinwoo with flashy and engaging action, just like in the Anime series. Along with lots of additional mechanics, like crafting.

The action-packed combat takes center stage in this game. There are combos and unique abilities for you to master and defeat monsters. And co-op raids to take part in with friends.

2. Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds is a game that features many similar aspects to the Solo Leveling series.

In this game, you also hunt monsters to level up your weapons and get more powerful. There’s also a story that follows a similar path to Solo Leveling.

Of course, you do much more than hunt monsters in this game as well. You can work on crafting, do missions, explore the map, work on different builds, team up with other hunters to track and defeat bigger monsters, and much more.

3. Elden Ring

Speaking of boss battles and getting more powerful, we can’t forget about the iconic Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is a souls-like game that features lots of challenging boss battles that will test your abilities. In this game, you not only have to get more powerful but also think very strategically to beat monsters.

When a boss is too difficult, you go back to grind more levels and better gear. There are also dungeons in the game. And it rewards you well for exploring the massive map as well.

Unlike most other open-world games, Elden Ring has a minimalist approach to maps and objectives. You have to discover them on your own.

4. Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry

If you want to defeat monsters and look badass at the same time, just like Solo Leveling, then the Devil May Cry series is perfect for you.

In Devil May Cry games, you are hunting monsters that are taking over the world. The best part of the games is their combat system.

Combat in DMC games is stylized. It rewards you for using combos and for being stylish while you’re at it. The characters in these games, especially Dante, are some of the most over-the-top personalities you’ll ever meet, in a good way of course.

DMC 3 is one of my favorites, mainly for its opening cut scene. But the newer title, DMC 5 is also a great place to start.

5. Nioh 2, 3

Nioh

Nioh is another souls-like game that will satisfy your power-hungry cravings.

Nioh 2 is a highly rated title that features smooth combat and boss battles that will keep you on your toes. Nioh 3 has just been released, and it’s looking even better.

In Nioh 2, you explore Japan to defeat massive and challenging enemies while unlocking and upgrading your abilities to become stronger.

The stunning graphics, combined with fluid gameplay and combat mechanics, make this a solid game that you’ll surely enjoy, even if you’re not a fan of souls-likes.

6. Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet is a free-to-play title that features stunning graphics and MMORPG-like elements.

For a free-to-play game, Where Winds Meet has some of the most incredible visuals, combat mechanics, and a gorgeous open world that’s unmatched by any other modern title.

Where Winds Meet also has quite challenging boss battles, dungeons, missions, and build variety. It may not be as action-packed as Solo Leveling, but it offers a close enough experience.

7. Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade takes you to a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world filled with weird monsters. You are tasked with defeating these monsters to save the world.

Flashy, fast-paced, and stylish combat takes center stage in this game. In addition to beating monsters, the game features engaging characters and a storyline as well.

Similar to Devil May Cry, this game is all about action-packed gameplay. While it’s missing some of the core concepts of Solo Leveling, Stellar Blade is ideal for satisfying that need to feel overpowered.

8. Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is one of the best gacha games available right now that some say is even better than Genshin Impact.

This game has many elements similar to Solo Leveling, like dungeon crawling, boss battles, character upgrades, build variety, and more.

The open world in Wuthering Waves feels much more engaging and exciting than most other gacha games. It offers a perfect balance of story, unique missions, and character development as well.

9. Warframe

While Warframe is far from the likes of Solo Leveling, it is one of the best games you can play if you’re after that same kind of power fantasy.

In Warframe, there’s no limit to how powerful you can get. With so many different play styles and builds to choose from, you can play this game however you like and feel overpowered at all times.

Whether you’re taking down bosses or beating mobs, Warframe will make you feel like a god with its incredible weapon effects and addictive combat mechanics.

10. Once Human

once human

Once Human is another game that features a world and a story similar to Solo Leveling.

In Once Human, you enter a world taken over by some kind of virus that’s affecting everything around you. It creates monsters and giant creatures that you need to defeat in order to save the world.

Once Human features addictive gameplay mechanics with decent combat, base building, build variety, and a huge open world map. Although, since this is a third-person shooter, it doesn’t have the same vibe as defeating monsters in Solo Leveling.

It’s a free-to-play game that could easily give you 100 hours of gameplay value.

11. The Witcher 3

witcher-3-graphics

When talking about games that make you feel overpowered, I couldn’t resist mentioning The Witcher 3.

This iconic game has an entirely different vibe from what Solo Leveling brings, but in a good way. It will make you feel part of that world and make you feel like a badass all the way.

Garalt, the protagonist, is much more badass than any of the characters in Solo Leveling. And the game itself has the perfect combination of story, combat, and visuals in any game ever made.

If you haven’t experienced The Witcher 3 yet, stop everything you’re doing and go play it!

12. Hades

Hades is another game that has many similarities to Solo Leveling.

In this game, you will also crawl dungeons to level up and get overpowered. You will come across powerful monsters, and you will get more powerful each time you beat them as well.

Hades is a rogue-like game and it’s a game with a top-down view. So it may not be the best alternative to Solo Leveling. But overall, it’s one of the best games ever made.
