If you have gold, you don’t even need to grind for the best gear in the game. You can simply buy it directly from the marketplace.
That’s exactly what I usually do when leveling alt characters. I just grab the best training gear to farm XP to level the character. And then when I get to the endgame, I buy a good gear set from the marketplace.
The thing is, gold does not come easily in ESO. Sure, you can sometimes get it as a login reward, but that’s not enough to buy anything decent from the marketplace.
So, in this guide, I’m outlining some of the best methods you can use to easily make gold in ESO. This guide is especially ideal for beginners, who don’t have access to more profitable endgame activities. But veterans are welcome to follow along too.
Method 1: Flipping For Profit
The easiest way to make gold in ESO is to take advantage of the in-game marketplace. To do this, you need to carefully monitor the marketplace and understand which items have the most demand.
It’s not that difficult to do, especially if you know how to use tools like the ESO market price checker. These tools allow you to compare the actual prices of items with the ones selling in the marketplace.
Most of the time, players will list high-value items for very low prices without knowing their actual price. When you see such an item, buy it and keep it for a couple of days. And then you can sell it in the marketplace with a really good profit margin.
I don’t recommend doing this often. Do this until you get enough gold to acquire the items you want, and then play the game to earn more gold, the way it’s meant to be played.
Method 2: Treasure Hunting (Scrying)
Scrying, or the treasure hunting mini-game, is one of my favorite activities in ESO. It not only encourages you to explore the map and discover treasure items, but it also gives you a ton of gold for it.
Getting started in Scrying is quite easy and a lot of fun. You can look for the tutorial quest in a major city to get started in the Antiquities guide, and you’ll be off to treasure hunting in no time.
In the early levels, you won’t make a ton of gold with this method. But it’s perfect to get started in your gold-making journey. Especially to make your first few thousand gold to buy items from the marketplace for flipping.
Unlike other common gold-making methods, Scrying is my favorite since it doesn’t require you to grind the same activity over and over again. You will always be traveling to a new location or city to find treasures.
Method 3: Fishing
Fishing in ESO is one of the most profitable activities where you can make tens of thousands of gold in just a few minutes. That is only if you know where to fish for the best types of fish.
Fish is a valuable crafting material in ESO, and it sells like hot cakes in the marketplace all the time. Even low-value fish sell out within minutes.
Fishing is also very beginner-friendly. You don’t need special skills to get started. And finding fishing spots is quite easy as well.
I recommend looking up a guide on YouTube to learn how to find the best bait and fishing spots to make higher profits in ESO. You can also check the online price checker to find the prices for different types of fish, so that you know what amount to sell them for in the marketplace.
Method 4: Daily Writs
Doing Daily Writs is another easy way to make some gold in ESO.
In case you’re not familiar, Daily Crafting Writs are a daily mission that you can do once per day to earn valuable crafting materials and gold. You can sell the rewards you get in the marketplace to get even more gold.
You can only do daily writs once per day. But if you have multiple characters, you can do the daily writs missions from each of those characters every day to make even more gold.
Method 5: Buying Gold
Not everyone has the time to grind out dozens of hours to make a few thousand gold in ESO. So, there’s no shame in using an alternative method to get some extra gold in an emergency.
If you don’t have time to grind it out, the easiest way to get rich is to buy ESO gold from a third-party platform. On these platforms, you can buy gold from various sellers in exchange for cash.
Obviously, this method involves risk. So, do your own research and check sellers’ backgrounds for their reputation before making any purchase. And spend your money wisely.
