The plot of Five Nights at Freddy’s is simple. You play as a security guard doing a night shift. Your job is to monitor the cameras for any unnatural behavior. You start noticing some strange behavior during your shift, and now you must go investigate.
Five Nights at Freddy’s takes advantage of jump scares to create a scary experience for players, which I’m not a huge fan of, but it’s quite popular among a lot of horror fans.
3. Into The Dead 2

Into The Dead is a different kind of horror game. It’s basically an endless runner-style game with zombies.
The core gameplay loop of the game is to take out as many zombies as possible while you run as far as possible without dying. At the end of every run, you earn rewards to unlock better gear and upgrades.
This sounds like a simple endless runner game, but there are some scary encounters and jump scares in this game that make it a great horror experience. I’ve played both Into the Dead 1 and 2 and loved them.
4. Carrion

Carrion is dubbed as a reverse horror game because in this game, you don’t run from a monster; you are the monster!
In Carrion, you get to live out your fantasy as a monstrous creature who just devours humans, creatures, and everything on its path. With every human you gobble up, you grow bigger and more powerful.
While it’s not a scary game, it’s a unique and super fun horror game that will stay in your memory for a while. You can play Carrion offline, and it has a free trial where you can try the game before buying as well.
5. Only You Are Here

This is an eerie and suspense-filled horror game without the jump scares and weird monsters. Instead, it delivers a spine-chilling experience through the atmosphere and its weird vibes.
Only You Are Here is a unique game that traps you inside a dream, and you must survive your worst nightmares while also navigating through various challenges and puzzles.
Your main goal is to find a small door that leads to your escape from the nightmare. But don’t think finding the exit is the end of the game because there are multiple endings to this game.

6. Very Little Nightmares

This is another puzzle-based horror game that takes you to the popular Little Nightmares universe. This mobile game acts as a prequel to the first Little Nightmares game, which is a popular series on PC and consoles.
Similar to the Only You Are Here game, in Very Little Nightmares, you play the role of a girl trapped in a mansion who now has to solve puzzles and challenges to find her escape path.
As you solve these puzzles and navigate your path, you will encounter strange enemies and various other obstacles as well.
Very Little Nightmares is light on the horror side but offers a solid experience as a puzzle adventure game with spooky vibes. The full version of Little Nightmares is also available, which I recommend you try out first.
7. The Walking Zombie 2

The Walking Zombie 2 is an FPS set in a zombie apocalypse. It features a single-player campaign with a story full of missions and side quests.
Your goal in this game is to hunt zombies, gather loot, and complete quests to progress through the story. Along the way, you get to upgrade your gear and buy new weapons as well. There’s also crafting and exploration with vehicles.
