Looking for a chill single-player mobile game to pass time while you’re on the go?
Then you’ll find some console-quality games in this collection to quench your thirst.
Mobile gaming came a long way in the past few years, especially thanks to developers that released mobile ports of some of the biggest console and PC games.
You’d be surprised at how many amazing single-player games are now available on Android and iOS. Most of them are actually free to play.
For this post, I handpicked a few of the best single-player mobile games. Truth be told I haven’t tried every game on this list. But they seem to have pretty good reviews.
And, hey, the games are free. So go install a couple of games and see for yourself.
1. House Flipper
- Available On: Android, iOS
House Flipper is the kind of game you should play when you’re stressed out or need a break after a long day of work.
There’s something very satisfying and soothing about painting walls and cleaning up trash. And then of course selling houses and making money.
I enjoyed playing this game on PC and the mobile game is just as good. For some reason, it’s free to play. And it runs offline too.
2. Almora Darkosen RPG
- Available On: Android, iOS
This one is for fans of RPGs. Almora Darkosen features a classic retro-style gameplay design with hack and slash mechanics. This game also has over 100 quests for you to enjoy.
You can adventure through swamps, delve into dungeons, collect loot, upgrade gear, and do so many fun things in this game. It has a bit of a grind, like other RPGs but it will be a fun game to play on your phone while you’re taking a short break.
3. Tsuki’s Odyssey
- Available On: Android, iOS
This is a beautiful adventure game featuring cute graphics and fun gameplay mechanics. The game has an isometric-style design with an art-style similar to games like Stardew Valley.
Since it’s an adventure game, there are lots of things for you to do in this game. Like fishing and decorating your home. Even the ads in the game are optional and not forced like most other free games.
4. Good Pizza, Great Pizza

Both my wife and sister are super addicted to this game and I have no idea why. While I haven’t played the game myself, it comes highly recommended by my wife.

This is the sequel to Dead Trigger and it comes with even more enhanced graphics and gameplay.
7. Nonstop Knight
- Available On: Android, iOS
This is a really fun game that doesn’t require too much of a time investment. Because your character does the fighting for you even when you’re not playing it.
In this game, your character deals with the mobs when you’re not playing the game. And then you can jump in to deal with the boss battles. It’s a really fun game.
8. SimCity BuildIt
- Available On: Android, iOS
I used to be addicted to this game. Building your own city one structure at a time can be a really calming experience.
This game is one of the best city-building games available on mobile. It has online elements too, which makes the game more entertaining.
9. Plants vs Zombies

12. Life is Strange
- Available On: Android, iOS
Life is Strange is an incredible game developed by Square Enix. This is actually a really good mobile port of the PC and console game.
The first episode of the game is free to play on Android. And you can buy other episodes if you like. It’s still worth playing the game for the first episode.
13. Batman: Telltale Series
- Available On: Android, iOS
If you’re familiar with the Telltale Series games, then you know Batman is one of the best games in that series.
Similar to Life is Strange, the first episode of this game is also free to play. And you can buy other episodes if you like.

17. Cut the Rope
- Available On: Android, iOS
Cut the Rope is another one of the classics that deserve to be played at least once in your lifetime. It’s a puzzle game with a fun character.
This game is now completely free to play and it has a sequel too. But for me, the original had the best puzzles.
18. RGB Express
- Available On: Android, iOS
RGB Express is another puzzle game that I used to play every day. It has some brilliant puzzles that will make you think hard. Yet it’s not too difficult either. So there’s a balance between fun and intelligent gameplay.
