Cyberpunk is a massive game with tons of things to do. One of the coolest parts of this RPG is all the different stuff you can buy with the money you earn.
Of course, it doesn’t come easy because the best and the rarest items can be quite expensive. And earning money can be a slow process.
There are many ways to earn money in the game, like completing gigs and side missions. But, there are quicker ways to make more cash.
In this guide, I share some of the best ways to make money fast in Cyberpunk 2077. These methods are so obvious that you’ll kick yourself for not knowing them earlier. Check them out.
Note: This guide was updated to reflect the changes in the 1.6 update
1. Datamining (with 2X Money)
Datamining is the hacking part of the game and it’s quite an interesting activity in the game that I found to be quite confusing and boring.
At first, I couldn’t figure out the patterns and but then I found out how it works. Basically, you need to go by unlocking from row to column starting with the 3rd sequence. Check out this video for a detailed explanation.
When you datamine, it basically means you hack into the system to steal some cash. If you complete all 3 parts of the hack, you’ll get more 1K in cash. You can get it done by planning your moves.
But, at the very least, try to complete the third sequence first. As you see the sequences are labeled as V1, V2, and V3. This third V3 tier pays you the most amount of money. So try to target it first.
Here’s the trick that will help you double the amount of cash you get from datamines— acquire the Advanced Datamine skill from the Intelligence skill tree.
When you enable this skill, you will earn 2X the amount of cash you usually get from hacking. It’s easy money!
2. Open-World Activities
Another easy way to earn money in Cyberpunk 2077 is the complete open-world activities.
When roaming around you’ll notice aqua-colored icons appear on your map. These are NCPD activities where you basically beat some bad guys to save the day.
Completing some of these activities will reward you in cash. But the trick to making more cash is to find the secret stash.
After beating the bad guys, search around for a stash that usually contains a huge stack of cash. Every activity location usually has one. Sometimes a bad guy could even be holding on to the cash.
Search and loot around to find the cash.
3. Loot Junk
Can’t believe I’m about to say this, but you should always loot all the junk you can find in Cyberpunk 2077.
Junk can be sold to vendors for easy money. Things like jewelry earn you the highest amounts of cash.
Junk usually doesn’t take up space in your inventory so make sure to loot everything. You can sell them for a good reward.
Also, remember to get the Pack Mule perk in the Athletics skill and use mods to increase your carry capacity.
4. Be Stealthy
Completing side missions and gigs is a great way to earn cash fast.
However, you can earn an extra bonus reward by completing those missions in stealth mode. Well, most missions at least.
So try to be as stealthy as possible when completing missions. And don’t forget to hack those datamine spots.
5. Focus On The Easy Gigs
There are some gigs and side missions in the game that are super easy and pays you a lot of money.
For example, Delamain missions are really easy. You just have to drive around looking for cars. Each mission in the series will pay around 1K in cash and by the end of the missions, you’ll earn around 10K.
Focus on completing those easy side missions to earn cash and XP at the same time.
6. Crafting
Before the patch 1.6 came out, there used to be some great crafting recipes you could use to make cash very quickly. But CDPR has removed those exploits for once and for all.
But, you can still use crafting to make a ton of money in the game.
However, this means you have to invest a lot of perk points in the crafting skill tree. And you have to find and buy legendary crafting recipes and then grind for legendary crating materials to craft those items.
This can be a tedious process so I’d recommend sticking with the other methods. But if you’re already a fan of crafting, give it a try.
There’s so much content to explore in Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m still discovering new things in the game. See you again in another guide.
