best new games october 2026

These are the top new game releases of October 2026.

With GTA VI coming out next month, many developers are rushing to release their games. So October is packed with a whole lot of great new game releases.

As part of my new series, I handpicked a few of my most anticipated games for this month.

Below, you’ll find some of the best new game releases in October 2026 that are not just hype but actually worth checking out.

1. Aion 2

Aion2

Aion 2 is the latest MMO that is available right now. The game was released today on October 5th, and it’s already off to a strong start with thousands of players rushing to play it at once.

Aion 2 comes at a time when we desperately need a new MMO experience. The game seems to have engaging combat, exploration, raids, and questing that caters to all types of players. It even has solo-friendly raids and dungeons as well.

However, keep in mind that this is a free-to-play MMO from a Korean developer. That usually means it’ll be full of microtransactions and pay-to-win elements.

For a casual MMO experience, Aion 2 will be a great addition to try out this month. Especially since it’s free-to-play.

2. Gears of War: E-Day

Gears of War E-Day

The latest installment of the Gears of War franchise is finally coming out. Gears of War: E-Day acts as a prequel to the franchise with a story set 14 years before the first game, making it a great title for new players to dive into the franchise.

For fans of the franchise, the game serves as a great way to explore the backstory of the franchise and learn about how the Locust Horde first emerged.

As usual, the game will feature both single-player and multiplayer modes with PVP.

Gears of War: E-Day is releasing on October 6th.

3. Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Galactic Racer

The latest installment in the Star Wars games is a different one. This one is fully focused on Podracing.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer features both single-player and multiplayer races, along with a solo campaign mode with a story.

From the early gameplay footage, Galactic Racer seems to have an excellent design that simulates the speed and thrill of podracing quite well. The visuals and vehicle model designs also complement that to create a well-crafted game.

Star Wars Galactic Racer is releasing on October 6th.

4. Hellraiser: Revival

Hellraiser

This is one of my most anticipated games of this month, and it’s not a pretty one, especially not for the faint of heart.

Hellraiser is a hardcore survival horror game based on the iconic Hellraiser franchise. It is a game full of disturbing amounts of gore, violence, blood, and weird sex scenes that will either amaze or gross you out. This game is definitely not for everyone.

It’s too early to tell how the game will turn out to be, and we don’t have enough gameplay footage to make a prediction. But looking at all the footage released so far, it’s looking good.

Hellraiser Revival is releasing on October 8th

5. Enshrouded

One of my favorite survival crafting games, Enshrouded is finally coming out of early access this month. Enshrouded 1.0 is releasing on October 15th on both PC and consoles.

Enshrouded is like a blend of Valheim, Minecraft, and Skyrim. It has amazing quests and RPG elements, building and crafting systems where you can build entire cities, and it has a huge map that rewards exploration. Personally, I think Enshrouded is better than RuneScape Dragonwilds.

As a PC player, I had the chance to play the game throughout its early development, and right now the game is in a well-polished state with a number of visual overhauls and performance improvements. The 1.0 release will undoubtedly be a smooth launch for the game.

Enshrouded is releasing on October 15th

6. Emberville

Emberville

Another new pixel art game is releasing this month. Emberville is inspired by games like Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper, but it has a completely different dark fantasy vibe.

Some compare Emberville to a blend of games like Diablo and Stardew Valley. This game puts an emphasis on loot and combat as well as other usual farming sim mechanics like crafting, farming crops, connecting with NPCs, and helping rebuild the town.

This game also features procedurally generated dungeons that will look and feel different each time you go in.

Emberville is co-created by the popular streamer CohhCarnage, and it looks like a great pixel art farming sim for players who don’t like the cheerful farming games like Stardew.

Emberville is releasing on October 27
