Warframe is one of the first games that I truly fell in love with. Warframe is also the main reason why I started this website.
But, I haven’t played Warframe in 2 years. The last time I played the game was when Duvri Paradox came out in April 2022.
Truth be told, I didn’t even get around to finishing that campaign. I stopped playing Warframe and moved on to other games.
Why I Stopped Playing
When you play a game for years, it tends to wear you down and you get burned out. And that’s what happened to me as well.
Even though I stopped playing the game, I always kept tabs on Warframe. I watched Warframe devstreams every once in a while to see what the devs have been up to. Because one thing I know for sure is that Warframe is the only game that has a group of developers as passionate about their game as the players.
I love how Steve Sinclair and Rebb Ford find new ways to keep players in the loop with things like Dev Shorts, a quick 15-minute weekly update on everything new in the game. Even the way they deliver these devstreams is fun to watch.
Long story short, I think I’m ready to get back into my favorite game of all time. Why? Because the Warframe: 1999 update is on the way, soon!
Why I’m Returning
After watching the 20-minute gameplay video of Warframe: 1999 on TennoCon, I immediately felt a strong desire to return to Warframe.
Throughout watching the video, I was glued to the screen and every hair on my body was tingling, telling me “This is It! This is the update you’ve been waiting for”
It’s a feeling I haven’t felt in a long time about any video game.
Warframe: 1999 seems to be an update made specifically for millennials. In a time where almost every video game is designed to target Gen-Z audiences, this update is exactly what we millennials needed—A nostalgic trip down memory lane packed with classic weapons, Backstreet Boys-style music tracks, motorcycles, and badass characters.
Time To Dive Back In
Warframe: 1999 is coming in Winter 2024. This means I have plenty of time left to catch up on all the updates released over the last two years.
I will be diving back into Warframe today and starting my journey to be addicted to this game all over again. And I hope you will too.
While many new MMOs and hero-shooters came around and died down like opening soda bottles, Warframe managed to do the impossible by not only surviving for more than a decade but also growing its active player base year over year.
Right now, there are over 97,000 players actively playing Warframe on Steam alone, without including the players on Epic Games, Switch, and iOS.
In terms of investing my time and money in games, Warframe is a game that I never hesitate to spend a few bucks on. Because I know it doesn’t go to waste.
See you out there, Tenno!
