Whether you’re bored at work, trying to kill some time at a library, or even at school, these simple games will keep you entertained for hours.
Usually, you don’t get to use high-end gaming PCs and laptops in the office and school. So, playing console-quality games is out of the question.
But, don’t worry, the games I have on this list run directly on the browser. This means they will run on any potato PC or laptop you have. And you don’t have to download and install them on your computer. Just need a decent browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox and they’ll run like a dream.
These games are simple and tiny, yet entertaining. As long as you don’t expect them to be like Fortnite or Call of Duty, you’ll enjoy them for hours.
1. Krunker
This is one of the coolest games I’ve ever played and at first, I couldn’t believe it’s a browser game. It’s that good!
Krunker is a multiplayer FPS with pixel graphics. You just jump right in and start shooting everybody. It’s a simple and fun multiplayer game. And it runs amazingly well on the browser.
2. Hordes.io
This game is most suitable for long-term play sessions as it requires you to sign up for an account to play the game.
Hordes is an MMORPG that you can play on the browser. It has all the usual MMO gameplay mechanics, including PVP. If you’re looking for a game to login and play daily, this one is for you. Although, the game can be a bit heavy on the graphics side.
3. Backpack Hero
Backpack Hero is a fun little dungeon-crawling game that you can run directly on your browser. The game is available via Itch.io as well as Steam.
This game is built with Unity and requires WebGL to run the game so you will need a PC with a VGA that supports it. But these days, WebGL is available on almost every on-board VGAs.
4. DOOM
The game that kick-started the FPS genre, the most iconic game of all time, Doom is a game that everyone must play at least once in their lifetime.
This game runs on anything and everything, including calculators and ATM machines. So, it will definitely run on your potato PC too.
5. Bubble Shooter
This is a site full of tiny bubble shooter games. It includes a bunch of different games where you shoot to color-match bubbles and solve puzzles.
These used to be super-fun games back in the early days of Android phones. If you’re looking for a super simple and mindless game to kill a few minutes, these bubble shooters are perfect for you.
6. Wordle
This game needs no introduction. Wordle is a simple browser game for those of you who seek a challenge. You can play this game to tease your brain with a fun puzzle. It’s free and runs even on mobile devices.
7. TORN
Torn is a text-based RPG and it’s a very old-school game. If you’re a fan of text-based adventures, this is a game that will keep you coming back for more. What’s great about this game is you get to play with other players from around the world.
8. Legend of Warships
If you enjoy battleship-style games, you’ll also enjoy this one. It’s a game that will put your strategy skills to the test. This game also runs on the browser but you’ll need to register an R2Games account to play it.
9. Titan Revenge
Titan Revenge is another great browser game from R2Games. It’s a full-blown MMORPG on your browser that includes cool classes, intense battles, mounts, and a massive world to explore. This game also requires an R2Games account to play it.
10. RuneScape
RuneScape is a legendary game among the fans of browser-based games. However, it requires a subscription to play the game. And that’s the only reason I listed it down here.
However, if you can afford the subscription, RuneScape is a game that will consume you whole. Even though this game is super old, there are players with tens of thousands of hours in this game who are still enjoying it. Once you get addicted to RuneScape, you won’t go back. Be warned!
